Abstract

Climate change poses challenges to oil palm plantations through temperature variability, extreme weather, water stress, and decreased productivity. This study uses a systematic literature review to examine the role of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) in strengthening the resilience of plantations to climate change, with a focus on adaptation, sustainable cultivation, resource management, and technological innovation. The results show that CSA improves resilience through optimization of water and nutrient management, climate-resilient planting practices, precision agriculture, soil improvement, and monitoring systems. This approach maintains productivity, reduces environmental impact, and increases adaptation capacity. However, its implementation is constrained by limited technology, financing, and farmers' knowledge. CSA is a path to resilient and sustainable oil palm plantations. Strengthening technology adoption, farmer capacity, institutional support, and collaborative governance are necessary for long-term productivity and environmental sustainability.
